Former IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba has been appointed the Director General of Communications Authority of Kenya taking over from the former boss Francis Wangusi. Chiloba is set to serve at the government parastatal for a period of 4 years.
Chiloba’s appointment was announced on Tuesday September 27 through a press statement by the Board of Directors of the Communications Authority of Kenya.
In the statement, the Board denoted that they appointed the ex-IEBC CEO after a competitive recruitment process for the position that remained vacant after the retirement of former Director General Francis Wangusi.
The Board outlined the merits of Chiloba that it states, gave him a upper hand over other applicants.
“Mr. Chiloba holds an undergraduate degree in Law from the University of Nairobi, a Masters of Arts degree from Central European University in Hungary, a Masters of Science degree in Program Management from University of Oxford in the United Kingdom,” the statement outlined.
The Board further stated that they considered Chiloba’s rich work experience at leading institutions as a governance and electoral expert.
The Board also announced that acting Director General Mercy Wanjau has relinquished her position to give space for Chiloba.
