The Court of Arbitration for Sport has ordered Football Kenya Federation to pay former Harambee Stars coach, Adel Amrouche, Sh108 million for wrongful dismissal.
The award is for damages and suit cost.
CAS ordered FKF to pay Amrouche the tidy sum before the end of October or risk failing exclusion in the 2022 Fifa World Cup qualifiers.
The Belgian was sacked by FKF in 2014 after losing to Lesotho in a 2015 Africa Nations qualifier.
By the time of his sacking by Sam Nyamweya, Amrouche was only five months into his five-year contract.
After being fired, Amrouche sued FKF and was awarded Sh60 million by the world football governing body, but the current FKF President Nick Mwend appealed the Fifa directive.
Mwendwa said the federation was suffering financial difficulties and could not afford to pay Sh60 million in the appeal to CAS which is based in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Mwendwa claimed that they had unsuccessfully tried to re-hire Amrouche as the head coach for Stars with lucrative salary offers so that he could drop pursuit of the Sh60m but the Belgian tactician turned down the offers.
