Sunday’s comments in which former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko linked Interior Principal Secretary (PS), Dr. Karanja Kibicho, to alleged hooliganism and other purported criminal activities seem to be the proverbial straw that broke the camel’s back.

Speaking to People Daily on Monday, January 25, hours after recording a statement with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations headquarters in Nairobi, PS Kibicho said he’s had enough of Sonko’s melodrama and character assassination.

“I can assure you that I don’t start something which I don’t finish. Sonko must answer everything he has accused me of in a court of law,” said Dr. Kibicho.

The Interior PS said that Sonko has on several occasions issued statements to damage his reputation, including linking him to the death of former Vice President, Prof George Saitoti.

“He must come and tell us how we killed Saitoti,” said Dr. Kibicho.

Sonko made the incendiary comments linking PS Kibicho to hooliganism in the 2017 electioneering period yesterday at a rally at Dagoretti South Constituency in Nairobi.

The impeached City Hall chief claimed that he was involved in the planning of events that were designed to portray the Orange Democratic Movement as a violent party.
