Feisal Abdallah Bader, an independent candidate allied to Deputy President William Ruto, has won the Msambweni parliamentary seat.

Feisal won with 15,251 votes against his closest rival, Omar Boga from Orange Democratic Movement, who garnered 10,444 votes.

The independent candidate was declared winner by Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission returning officer, Yusuf Abubakar, and issued with a certificate on Wednesday morning.

The Msambweni mini-poll had attracted eight candidates.

The seat fell vacant in March this year after the death of Suleiman Dori who was also uncle to Feisal Abdallah Bader.
