Attorney General nominee Dorcas Oduor has vowed to be a responsive AG should her nomination be approved.
Speaking when she appeared before the National Assembly Committee on Appointment on Friday, August 9, 2024, Dorcas assured the committee that she will prioritise the people of Kenya by representing them as their lawyer.
She asserted that she will walk with the citizens of Kenya to realise the country’s aspirations as enshrined in the Constitution.
“I will be a responsive Attorney General and a lawyer of the people, I hope the office of the Attorney General will walk with all people of Kenya in realising our aspirations under the constitution,” Oduor said.
Additionally, Dorcas stated that she will uphold the rule of law and protect human rights should she be approved by the committee.
The AG nominee further stressed her ambition to actualise the country’s vision by advocating for good governance and accountability.

Oduor who boasts of an extensive career in law was among those nominated after President William Ruto disbanded his cabinet following sustained protests from the country’s youth.
She serves as the Secretary of Public Prosecutions at the ODPP and an advocate of the High Court of Kenya.
The seasoned lawyer holds a Masters of Arts in International Conflict Management (UoN), a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree (UoN) and a Diploma in Law from Kenya School of Law and is an advocate of the High Court of Kenya.
She brings over 30 years of legal experience in the public sector having previously served as the Head of Economic, International and Emerging Crimes Departments at the ODPP, and Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
