Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro has dared police officers to arrest him, saying he will not honour summons from detectives following Sunday’s deadly clashes at Kenol town.

Speaking during an interview on Citizen TV on Tuesday morning, the Tanga Tanga firebrand said he will not be used by murderers to cleanse their mess following the death of two people at the Kenol clashes in Murang’a County.

The MP was ordered arrested by the Inspector-General of Police Hillary Mutyambai on Sunday after chaos erupted hours before Deputy President William Ruto arrived for a fundraiser at an AIPCA church.

Nyoro said that if the police really wanted to arrest him they would have since they can track his mobile phone or visit his house as he has not been in hiding.

The Kiharu MP queried why police zeroed-in on him and his Kandara counterpart Alice Wahome yet another Murang’a leader had been adversely mentioned by some of the people who were caught up in the skirmishes.

But Homa Bay Women Representative Gladys Wanga, who appeared in the same interview, accused Nyoro of seeking to gain political mileage through drama by provoking police to arrest him publicly.

Wanga told Nyoro that he should just report to the police station as directed by IG Mutyambai.

On Monday, the National Transport Safety Authority summoned Sacco manager of two bus companies accused of ferrying goons to Kenol town.

However, one of the bus companies, Neo Kenya Mpya, distanced itself from the mayhem.
