Kenya recorded 397 new coronavirus cases, bringing to 14, 168 the total number of COVID-19 infections in the country, Health Chief Administrative Secretary Dr. Rashid Aman announced Tuesday, July 21.

Addressing journalists at Afya House in Nairobi, the CAS said 397 cases were discovered in 3, 637 samples tested between Monday and Tuesday.

Three hundred and eighty nine (389) of the new infections were registered among Kenyan nationals, whereas eight were foreigners.

Two hundred and thirty six (236) of the new patients are male, whereas 161 are female.

The youngest new patient is 1 year old, while the oldest is aged 90 years old.

With 239 new COVID-19 cases, Nairobi is at Position One among the most-affected counties. The capital city is followed by Kiambu (33), Machakos (27), Nyeri (17) and Busia, which has 16 cases, wraps up the Top Five most-affected counties in Kenya. Nakuru and Mombasa have 12 cases each.

Twelve (12) more patients succumbed to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, pushing the country’s death toll to 250.

Six hundred and forty two (642) patients recovered from the disease, with 587 recovering while under home-based care, whereas 55 were discharged from various hospitals across the country. Six thousand two hundred and fifty eight (6, 258) patients have thus far recovered from the disease.

Kenya has so far tested a total of 249, 998 samples for coronavirus disease.
