Police in Kakamega on Friday morning (July 3) arrested a 66-year-old male pastor accused of sexually abusing five girls aged between 2 years old and 7 years old.
It is alleged that David Kitiko Kimanzi, who also works as a construction worker at the Kakamega County Teaching and Referral Hospital, had developed a habit of luring the minors using sweets and potato chips before sexually abusing them using his fingers in church premises.
The suspect, who is an assistant pastor at Great Victory Church in Amalemba, was exposed after one of his victims complained of unending pain in her private parts.
When the child’s mother took her to hospital, a broken fingernail was removed from her genitals, prompting the minor to disclose what she and her friends were being subjected to by the suspect.
Kakamega Central OCPD, David Kabena, said they have since arrested the suspect, whom they will charge in court with sexual assault and committing indecent acts with children.
“The acts he is alleged to have committed, are beastly, and we will ensure justice for the children is served,” Kabena told K24 Digital.
Residents allege that Kimanzi also sexually abused two other male children by inserting his fingers in their anuses.
