Raila Odinga says Miguna Miguna should be allowed back to Kenya, but the vocal political activist must stop theatrics if he wants a seamless readmission into the country.
Speaking in Kisii County on Friday, January 9, after the BBI strategy conference that brought together governors from the six Nyanza counties, Raila Odinga said, contrary to allegations by Miguna, he and President Uhuru Kenyatta “do not fear the ex-contestant in the Nairobi gubernatorial race”.
“Hakuna mtu ako na shida na Miguna. Miguna arudi, sivyo? Lakini awache kupiga kelele na kubweka. Anasema ati ninaogopa yeye… Mimi simuogopi yeye… Ati Uhuru anamuogopa, Uhuru haogopi mtu yeyote. Miguna ni mtu mdogo sana, apande ndege akuje (There is no one who is against Miguna’s return to Kenya. Miguna should be allowed into the country, right? However, he must stop heckling and barking on social media. He claims I fear him, I don’t! He says President Kenyatta fears him. The Head of State does not fear anyone. Miguna is such a small person. He should board a plane and return to Kenya,” said Raila.
The ODM leader’s remarks come two days after Miguna attempted to fly back into the country, but was prevented from doing so after the Government of Kenya directed Air France and Lufthansa Airlines not to carry the politician to Kenya.
The order was also issued to other airlines that land at the JKIA and all other Kenyan international airports.
