Police officers are said to be waiting for the arrival of eight Northeastern MPs who travelled to Somalia on a ‘secret’ mission.

Social media is awash with the names of the eight MPs but K24 Digital has not yet ascertained their identity.

The MPs are said to have met with Somalia’s National Intelligence Services over an undisclosed agenda.

The MPs were expected to land in the country at the Wilson Airport but journalists were informed they had been re-routed to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

Their visit to Somalia, the base of the Al-Shabaab terrorist group that has been implicated in attacks in Kenya, comes just days after the US issued a security alert over a possible attack of a major hotel.

“Terrorist groups may be plotting an attack against a major hotel in Nairobi.  The exact hotel has not been identified, but it is believed to be a hotel popular with tourists and business travelers,” said the US Embassy in Kenya on February 27.
