Police in Siaya are looking for a 23-year-old man, who allegedly killed a 15-year-old girl after he was ordered to stop ‘dating’ the minor, who, family said, was his relative.

The suspect, Fredrick Onyango Akula, allegedly stabbed the girl to death in a thicket in Sinderma Village, Central Gem Location on Monday.

Area chief John Baraka Oloo told K24 Digital that Akula killed the teenager after the girl’s parents warned him against dating their child, whom they said was related to Akula.

Akula and the minor, a student at Sirembe Secondary School, were reportedly in a “relationship” that yielded a pregnancy, which was terminated.

As a result, Akula was charged with defilement, and was out on bond, when he allegedly killed her.

A note, believed to have been written by the suspect, was found next to the girl’s body. In the note, the man said he loved the girl, and could not imagine life without her.

The teenager’s body was taken to Yala Sub-County Hospital morgue.
