Saboti Member of Parliament (MP) Caleb Amisi has revealed that he will be joining the ongoing countrywide anti-Finance Bill demonstration.

Amisi, in a statement he published on Monday, June 24, 2024, revealed that on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, he will join the young generation on the streets to protest against the 2024 Finance Bill.

The vocal  MP further stated that as a country there is a need to have a conversation about corruption adding that Kenya needs a revitalisation.

“LET’S MEET ON TUESDAY! We must have a conversation as a country. We must talk to each other. The cabinet minister, the president, and his hedgemen are stealing and vomiting on the new generation. It is the time to disturb the stubborn status quo. Kenya needs a Renaissance!,” Amisi said.

Police Brutality

Narrating his ordeal in the hands of rogue police, the Saboti legislature disclosed that on October 13, 2017, he almost lost his life after a teargas canister was thrown into his car by an officer during the demonstration of the electoral reforms organised by the opposition party in Nairobi County.

He further described the ordeal stating how his car lost control and landed in the nearby building after his driver collapsed on the accelerator peddle.

Amisi continued to say how his life was saved after a local Journalist saw him struggling to be engulfed in total smoke and opened his door.

“OCTOBER 13TH 2017 remains the day I was to die along Kenyatta Avenue fighting for electoral reforms. A police officer teargassed my car from the rear mirror, and the teargas blew up inside my car. My driver collapsed on the accelerator peddle, my car swerved, and we landed in a building nearby,” Amisi said.

“I had lost breath, and the windows were locked and stuck. Were it not for a journalist from Reuters Media International who saw me struggling engulfed in total smoke, opened my door, I got an iota of air and the owner poured water on me, I would have died.”
