Saboti Member of Parliament (MP) Caleb Amisi has called for a commercial break to the ongoing anti-government protests.

In a statement on X on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, Amisi said that liberation is never a one-day event adding that it’s now time for the demos to take a break.

The MP further explained that as the demos take a break they will be watching if President William Ruto will address the issues affecting Kenyans within one month, including reshuffling of the cabinet.

“The #Genz protest should now stop for a commercial break, It is never a one-day event,” MP Amisi said.

“We keenly watch the behaviour of #ruto while drawing him a raft of radical surgeries he needs to undertake within one month, including a new cabinet.”

Amisi added that they will mobilize people until Ruto resigns if he does not meet Kenyans’ expectations.

“If we are not satisfied, we come back with 5m people to Nairobi until he resigns,” Amisi said.

Hired Goons

The legislature alleges that goons hired to disrupt the countrywide peaceful anti-government protests are harvesting at the expense of liberation.

He added that the country can be liberated without sinking into lawlessness.

“Goons are harvesting at the expense of Liberation Kenya can be liberated without sinking into anarchy,” he said.

Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, also alleged that hired goons have infiltrated the protests intending to disrupt.

Kalonzo further stated that the protests would be seized only if the government paid attention to the requests of the protesters.
