In a thrilling turn of events, renowned social media activist Gabriel Oguda has successfully recovered his X account, marking a triumphant return to the digital space.

Sharing the news on July 2, 2024, on his X account, an elated Oguda posted a video notifying his audience that he had made a comeback.

“We are back on! Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen, today is July 2, 2024, guess who is back?” Oguda remarked.

Oguda, known for his satire and thought-provoking content, faced a temporary setback when his X account was compromised. Oguda lost access to his account days after he was released from an alleged abduction.

With his heartfelt thanks, Oguda appreciated his friend for helping him restore his account, which boasts more than 900,000 followers.

“For those asking. The guru behind the restoration of my X account is @suprimoheywood kijana wa nguvu sana. He will also go to heaven straight,” Oguda remarked.

It was reported that Oguda was among at least ten people who were rounded up by unknown men on Tuesday, June 25, 2024. In a video that quickly surfaced online, Oguda was found at the Kajiado police station and later released.

“Ambia wasee niko sawa (Tell guys that I am okay),” Oguda said.

How Oguda was abducted

On Tuesday morning, June 25, 2024,  National Assembly Minority Leader Opiyo Wandayi, reported that Oguda, an analyst at his office, had called him in the wee hours to tell him that police had broken into his property.

According to Wandayi, no sooner had Oguda called him than his phone was jammed, and was unable to make calls until 6:30 am on Tuesday.

At that moment, Wandayi said he could not confirm whether the people who abducted Oguda were police officers.

“Oguda called me to inform me that there were people at his gate who were breaking into his compound. I mobilised lawyers to attend to his situation but within no minute my phone calls were jammed and I was unable to call or receive calls until 6.30 am this morning,” Wandayi said.
