Wednesday power outage to affect 8 Counties

Kenya Power has announced a power outage that will affect at least eight counties on Wednesday, June 19, 2024.

In a statement on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, the utility company announced the blackouts would affect the following areas on Wednesday;

Nairobi County

From 9 am to 5 pm, the whole of KCC Village and the adjacent customers will have their electricity supply cut off.

Kisumu County

In the lakeside city, parts of Chiga area will have their electricity interrupted from 9 am to 3 pm. Some of the areas to be affected are Wildor School, Kochieng Centre, Kalusi market, Nyamonge, Mayienya Secondary, Chiga Market, Obumba School, Kasese, Masawa, Kasarani, Hera Church, Rweya and adjacent areas.

Meru County

In Meru, the Green Wood Mall area will experience a blackout from 9 am to 5 pm.

The areas set to go without power in the area are Nkabune, Gitimbine, Camsupreme, Gikumene Girls, Equator, Ruiga, Mutego, Mukiria Polytechnic, Nkando Boys, Ukuu Girls, Mutuune Market and the adjacent areas.

Nyeri County

In Muranga, the following areas will be without electricity supply from 9 am to 5 pm.

Ihururu area, Muhoya Secondary School, Karunaini, Burton, Kanjora, Kahaigini, Elcer Ltd, Nyamaguyu. Mathari Hospital and surrounding areas.

Nyamira County

In Nyamira, the Chebilat, Kijauri areas will experience a power outage from 9 am to 4 pm.

The other areas to witness the same will be Manga, Metamaywa, Isoge, Mecheo, Nyasiongo, Matutu Police, Tinderet, Simbaoti and adjacent areas.

Homa Bay County

In Homab Bay County, Kalamindi, Wachara, Ratang’a, Nyamogo, Nyamos, Got K’Ojowi, Rachar, Odhiambo Rambo, Kodida, Apuoche, Sibuoche, Opanga and the adjacent customers will be without power from 9 am to 4 pm.

Muranga County

Muranga County’s Ngararia, Kibereke Market, Kandara Town, Karima-Mwaro Centre, Mukoye and adjacent areas will experience a blackout from 9 am to 5 pm.

Kiambu County

The following areas will experience a power outage in Kiambu from 9 a.m. to 5 pm.

Kwamaiko shops, Osho grain, Mega pipes, Ksmbui Girls, Gateiguru, Gathirimu Girls, Riuki, Mchana Est, Manila, St Monica Catholic, Kigumo, Hurlingham, Gititu, Gathugu, Komothsi, Kahuguini Secondary, Wauguthuko, Oaklands, Ruiru Mills, Kambara and the surrounding areas.
